They seem to be. Israel is craving international legal protection, so in that case definitely. Joining NATO would provide another blanket over a Gaza invasion or attack on Iran. I would wonder whether Israel entirely calculated joining with NATO to strike Iran. That way when Iran retaliates America won't just be coming to the rescue. "Attack on one is an attack on all" in NATO.

With this scenario, it would be the end of the middle east as we know it today. To go further,---the world would never be the same after that.
